How will I know if my child needs braces? 

Only a dentist can tell you that. A dentist will need to do an examination to determine if your child needs orthodontics. 

Should I wait until my teenager has stopped growing?

Again, only a dentist can determine what the issues are. But by the time your child turns 12, almost 90 percent of his or her growth has been completed. It may be more difficult or even too late by then to correct some problems. 

Make sure your child has a full dental check up by age 8 by a dentist that is experienced in orthodontics. 

I'm in my mid-30s - I don't want a mouth full of braces. What can I do?
