Whitening Your Teeth
Want a whiter smile? You’re not alone. Whitening works!
Self-conscious? Shy? Stressed? Hiding your smile? Every day, we see people who used to feel this way — until they found a solution through whitening. That means choosing from one of the following:

1. In-Office Deep Whitening – We combine the latest whitening procedures to give the most dramatic whitening possible. First we whiten your teeth in-office with ZOOM, the whitening material used on “Extreme Makeover.” The ZOOM light helps activate the whitening gel to provide a fast whitening experience. We then send you home for one or two weeks to whiten at home with custom-made whitening trays made to our specifications to give the best results. Finally we have you back into our office again for another ZOOM in-office session, which brings out the true brilliance of your teeth color. This procedure is the very best way to use whitening gels.

2. At-Home Whitening – We use special custom-made whitening trays to let you bring out your teeth’s white color at home. Although not as quick as the In-Office Deep Whitening, at-home trays are still effective over a four to six-week time period.

3. Porcelain Veneers – A hard and permanent surface adhering to your natural teeth to create the perfect tooth, veneers are the most effective method of whitening available. If you already have extensive dentistry on your front teeth, a combination of whitening and veneers may be the answer for the optimal result.

The gel materials we use to whiten your teeth include:

1. Hydrogen peroxide gel — a gentle, oxygenating agent that penetrates tooth enamel, breaks up stain deposits lodged in your tooth structure and carries away the debris

2. Carbamide peroxide gel — a milder oxygenating agent that essentially works the same way as hydrogen peroxide

Over the counter or in the office?
Although cost is a consideration, there are several drawbacks to home whitening products available over the counter. They require more patience and commitment over a longer period of time, and precaution must be taken. With In-Office Deep Whitening, the procedure is a lot quicker (just two visits) and the results are spectacular.

Timelines and effectiveness vary.
Here’s what you can expect from the whitening solution you choose:

• Home whitening (4 – 6 weeks). although not as dramatic as In-Office Deep Whitening, the results are very good when given enough time
• In-office Deep Whitening (2 visits) excellent results
Veneers (3 visits) white and beautiful teeth eliminating all chips, gaps or crooked teeth
