Digital imaging allows you to see a preview of your new smile and share your excitement with family and friends. Dr. Westersund can perform a smile analysis in about 20 minutes.
Digital Radiography
We have the latest in digital radiography technology, which uses 95% less radiation. This means we can take 20 digital X-rays for the same exposure of one regular X-ray. It’s completely safe, non-intrusive and you get to see the images instantly.
Computerized Mandibular Scanning (CMS)
CMS allows us to track the exact movement characteristics of your jaw while opening, closing, chewing and swallowing.
Electromyography (EMG)
EMG helps us to measure the moving and resting activity of your jaw muscles. Dr. Westersund can determine if your present bite is straining your jaw and neck muscles and then help determine where a relaxed bite would be.
Electro-Sonography (ESG)
ESG permits us to listen to the Temporomandibular Joint and compare findings against normal conditions. Tiny microphones over the jaw joint can pick up even the faintest joint sounds that could indicate early jaw joint disease.
Transcutaneous Electro Neural Stimulation (TENS)
TENS is a therapy for the treatment of facial muscle pains associated with TMD. Mild pulses are delivered to your facial muscles, to relax the muscles of your face and jaw as Dr. Westersund determines the proper jaw position for your mouth.
